“Singham Again” (2024) is an action-packed spectacle directed by Rohit Shetty, marking the return of Ajay Devgn as Bajirao Singham in this third installment of the Singham franchise. The movie blends intense police drama with mythological themes inspired by the Ramayana.
The plot revolves around Singham, who embarks on a relentless mission to rescue his wife, portrayed by Kareena Kapoor, from a mysterious villain. The villain, shrouded in secrecy for much of the film, tests Singham’s mental and physical limits, drawing parallels to the epic battle between Lord Ram and Ravana. Deepika Padukone adds a new dimension to the film as a fearless female cop, while Ranveer Singh and Akshay Kumar reprise their roles, adding more star power to the ensemble cast.
Critics have praised the film for its high-octane action sequences, stunning visuals, and powerful performances by the cast. However, some reviews indicate that the film’s reliance on star power and over-the-top action could overshadow the storyline. The film’s heavy use of mythological references, especially the Ramayana parallels, adds an intriguing layer but also introduces a level of risk, as it might divide audiences.
For fans of the franchise, Singham Again promises to be a thrilling ride, full of explosive action, iconic dialogues, and emotional depth. The movie is a must-watch for action lovers and those who enjoy Bollywood blockbusters with larger-than-life storytelling.

Production:
In September 2017, Rohit Shetty announced that after his upcoming film with Ranveer Singh, he would be working on the third installment of the Singham franchise. He confirmed that Ajay Devgn would reprise his role as Bajirao Singham but did not specify a production timeline. By January 2020, Devgn hinted that development on the film, tentatively titled Singham 3, was underway. In March 2020, it was reported that Akshay Kumar, who appeared in Shetty’s Sooryavanshi (2021), part of the shared Cop Universe, would return for Singham 3.
In January 2021, production was scheduled to begin after Shetty completed Cirkus (2022), with Jackie Shroff cast as the main antagonist. Later that year, it was also reported that Ranveer Singh would reprise his role from Simmba (2018). On 1 December 2022, the project was officially titled Singham Again, and production was set to start after Devgn wrapped up Bholaa (2023).
Release:
Singham Again was initially slated for a theatrical release on 15 August 2024, coinciding with India’s Independence Day. However, the release was later postponed to Diwali 2024. The film’s international distribution rights were acquired by Phars Films, ensuring its global reach.
