“Sarfira” is a 2024 Indian Hindi-language drama film directed by Sudha Kongara and produced by 2D Entertainment, Abundantia Entertainment, and Cape Of Good Films. The film stars Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal, and Radhika Madan. It is a remake of Kongara’s Tamil film “Soorarai Pottru” (2020), which was adapted from G. R. Gopinath’s memoir, “Simply Fly: A Deccan Odyssey.” The story follows a man determined to create affordable airlines for low-income people, facing numerous obstacles from his adversaries.
The remake was officially announced in July 2021 as Project 1, marking 2D Entertainment’s debut in Hindi cinema. The official title was revealed in February 2024, with principal photography beginning in April 2022. The film’s music is composed by G. V. Prakash Kumar. “Sarfira” is notable as Akshay Kumar’s 150th leading role.
The film was released in theatres worldwide on 12 July 2024.

The film’s music is composed by G. V. Prakash Kumar, Tanishk Bagchi, and Suhit Abhyankar, with lyrics by Manoj Muntashir, Shloke Lal, and Tanishk Bagchi. In April 2022, Prakash announced on Twitter that he had completed the first song of the soundtrack. This project marks G. V. Prakash Kumar’s second collaboration with director Sudha Kongara, following “Soorarai Pottru,” and his first collaboration with Akshay Kumar. The music rights were acquired by Junglee Music.

Initially the film was planned to release on 1 September 2023 and later 16 February 2024. It was finally released in theatres on 12 July 2024.
