Jigra (transl. Courage) is an upcoming Indian Hindi-language action film directed and written by Vasan Bala. Produced by Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, Soumen Mishra, and Alia Bhatt under the banners of Dharma Productions and Eternal Sunshine Productions, the film stars Alia Bhatt and Vedang Raina in lead roles.
Jigra was announced last year in September. The announcement video teased the film is a tale of a sister’s love for her brother and how she would do anything to protect him. Jigra marks the second film of Vedang, who debuted last year with Zoya Akhtar’s The Archies.
The movie is slated for a theatrical release on 11 October 2024.

Production:
The film was announced in September 2023, with Alia Bhatt and Vedang Raina cast in the lead roles. Principal photography began in August 2021. In November 2023, Aditya Nanda and Sobhita Dhulipala were added to the cast. The movie was primarily filmed in Mumbai and Singapore, with shooting concluding in February 2024.

The film was initially set to release on 27 September 2024 but was later rescheduled to 11 October 2024.
Alia Bhatt shared a striking new poster for her upcoming film Jigra, featuring her standing on a damaged car with a weapon and axe. The film, also starring Vedang Raina, is now set to release on October 11, 2024, instead of September 27. Directed by Vasan Bala, it marks Alia’s first collaboration with him.
