Background
A few youths from Chowdighi village in Palashdanga came together to form a club called ‘Balak Sangh’. The club was led by Subal Da, the main organizer and theater director, and Nebu (Vipradas Guthakurta), who served as the secretary. Among the members were Gada and his energetic, though sometimes unpleasant, uncle, PC. The PC was always involved because of his close ties with the club.
One of the club’s annual events was a play titled ‘Alexander’s Invasion of India.’ Mace claimed the lead role of Alexander, much to the surprise of the other members who doubted his fit for the part due to his thin appearance. However, they had no choice but to accept him, as the financial support from Gada’s PC was crucial for staging the play.
During the performance, Mace’s PC unexpectedly stormed onto the stage with a broom in hand, causing chaos and forcing the members to pull down the stage curtain, resulting in the play’s cancellation. The members of ‘Balak Sangh’ were deeply embarrassed by the incident.
Determined to restore their reputation, the club members decided to organize a new and intriguing event: a seven-day long, non-traditional Bengali art performance called “Tansa Yatra Pala,” starting from the club’s foundation day. Will the boys’ association manage to reclaim their lost prestige?
