The Prabhas-starrer Kalki 2898 AD hit theaters on Thursday and has amassed an impressive Rs 555 crore worldwide in just four days. However, the epic sci-fi film saw a significant drop in its earnings on its first Monday. On its fifth day of release, Kalki 2898 AD grossed Rs 34.6 crore nett in India, bringing the film’s total domestic nett collection to Rs 343.6 crore after five days, according to industry tracker Sacnilk.
The film’s nett collections in India fell by over 60 percent from Sunday to Monday. On Sunday, Kalki 2898 AD made Rs 88.2 crore. Directed by Nag Ashwin, the film was released in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada. Kalki has seen most of its success in Telugu regions. On Sunday, the Telugu version of Kalki earned Rs 38.8 crore, which dropped to Rs 14.5 crore on Monday, a decrease of 62.6 percent. The occupancy in Telugu on Monday stood at 47.18 percent.
In Hindi, the film collected Rs 40 crore on Sunday but dropped to Rs 16.5 crore on Monday, recording a decrease of 58.7 percent. So far, Kalki 2898 AD has collected Rs 182 crore nett in Telugu and Rs 128 crore nett in Hindi in India.
