In October 2018, director Amar Kaushik announced plans for a sequel to “Stree”. Actor Rajkummar Rao later confirmed the sequel’s development in February 2022. By August 2022, it was clarified that the original writers, Raj & DK, would not be penning the sequel, but would still be involved as producers. Moving forward, in March 2023, the sequel entered the pre-production phase, with filming set to commence in July 2023. Subsequently, in April 2023, the release date was officially set for 30th August 2024.
