Pushpa 2: The Rule is an upcoming Indian Telugu-language action drama film, directed by Sukumar and produced by Mythri Movie Makers, jointly with Sukumar Writings. The film stars Allu Arjun in titular role, alongside Fahadh Faasil and Rashmika Mandanna reprising their roles. It is the second installment in the Pushpa film series and is a sequel to Pushpa: The Rise.
10% of the principal photography was initially shot back-to-back with the original film. However, Sukumar decided to alter the story, which lead to principal photography commencing in October 2022. Made on a budget of ₹500 crore, the film is one of the most expensive Indian films to date. It is scheduled to release on 15 August 2024, coinciding with India’s Independence Day.

Prior to the debut of “Pushpa: The Rise” in 2021, plans were unveiled for the film to be split into two parts. The initial announcement indicated that the first part would hit screens that year, while the second installment was slated for release the following year (2022). Initially, only 10% of the sequel had been filmed alongside the original movie. However, director Sukumar made the decision to adjust the narrative, purportedly to meet audience expectations and rectify any previous missteps. The official title, “Pushpa 2: The Rule,” was revealed on August 22, 2022. A ceremonial muhurat puja marked the occasion in Hyderabad, attended by the film’s cast and crew.
